Does it really matter at this point that George Lucas sold LucasFilms to Disney for $4 billion? That the Mickey Mouse house now owns the Star Wars properties? That there’s a distinct reality, given Disney’s ownership of PIXAR, that we could see “The Adventures of Buzz Lightyear and Han Solo” very soon? That Uncle Walt, Inc. has promised to start releasing a new Star Wars movie every 2-03 years starting in 2015? What, because they could somehow possibly be worse than the 3 prequels? That’s a creative impossibility. Because the “first three” Star Wars movies (even saying that makes me want to projectile vomit in zero gravity) were so bad, so soul-crushing, so dream-raping, that nothing George Lucas does really matters at this point. He’s already dropped two photon torpedoes down the heat shaft of my childhood (NERD!) Nope, doesn’t matter. Not to this almost 40-year old who shouldn’t be so concerned with science fiction fantasy but is because The Force will be with me. Always.
